Norfolk MA - Town Administrator
Posted Apr 29, 2022Norfolk, MA (9,500 pop.), seeks an experienced, strategic, leader with strong communication, collaboration and team building skills, to serve as its next Town Administrator. The incumbent exercises significant independent judgment and demonstrates extensive responsibility for the operation of the Town with the approval and guidance of the three member Select Board.
Acts as Chief Administrative Officer; prepares the agenda and attends all meetings of the Board, and acts for the Board in accordance with established policies and procedures. Represents the Select Board on a daily basis; executes the policies of the Board in areas of municipal management, administration, coordination, and supervision.
The Town Administrator directs the development of the annual operating and capital budgets. In conjunction with Finance Director, reviews, analyzes and recommends budgets to the Select Board. The Town has a history of conservative financial management, as evidenced by its AAA bond rating. The FY-22 Budget is $44.8M, with $21.6M for Town expenses and $23.2M for Educational expenses. There are approximately 130 Town employees and four unions.
